Or free standing ladder or balance ladder or whatever you prefer. I'd
really like to buy one but I can't seem to find anywhere in the United
States that sells them...

Thanks in advance!

This has come up before, but the archive searching I've done before hasn't
come up with any likely vendors who are actually in the USA.

Options suggested in the past seem to include:
- Get in touch with Voltige http://www.unicycle.fr/?___store=en they're
based in France, but you may be able to persuade them to ship you a
ladder. Their kit is really good quality.

- Stiltwerks apparently take on custom work from time to time and may
be able to build you a ladder. http://stiltwerks-inc.com

- Make your own, a basic ladder is quite easy to design, but wood may
not be sturdy enough for long term use. Steel is easy to weld but
very heavy. Aluminium is light, but a bugger to weld. A local metal
fabricator may be able to help. Some useful dimensions can be found
in this thread. http://tinyurl.com/23l57mn

- Post on performers.net and see if anyone has a second hand one they're
willing to part with for cash.

I think Jason Kollum was looking to get a ladder in the USA at some
point, but I'm not sure how far he got with it.

Hope some of that helps, even if it's not quite as easy as "you can
buy one here!"

I know very little about this subject but after looking at a few it seems
to me that you could use one of the sections of an extention ladder to
begin learning with. You might have to modify it a bit but I think it
would work.

Call Tom Miller of the Unicycle Factory, I believe he can build you
one as I was talking to him recently. He is located in Indiana and
his number is 765-452-2692.

Great! Thank you guys. I'll definitely give him a call, Bruce. If all else
fails I might try building one myself.
