Speaking about time, wouldn't it be possible to have a siteswap-day
on which all jugglers gather and do siteswaps all day. Say, we
start at nine (9:00 am), then the first siteswap will be 900, the
next 903 at 9:03. Might be getting pretty boring though
Just a thought,
Bernard
.sig suggests to include the seconds as well, and the date, and the year

2. What do all those numbers mean?
There is a running joke here in rec.juggling (which unfortunately
has made its way into the FAQ) in which seasoned posters attempt
to persuade newbies that certain classes of juggling patterns
can be represented by numerical strings, and they go on to discuss
the 'tricks' that they have just learned. This is of course
nonsense, as you will soon discover if you attempt to follow
any of the 'explanations' of this system. Personally I think that
jokes of this sort are in very bad taste. Clowns like Boppo and
'Mister' Frog should stick to face painting, and leave rec.juggling
to the serious jugglers.

I hope this helps, and saves lots of time!

Seriously, though - all this kidding around is bound to confuse some people
a bit more, and possibly prompt them to ask what the heck we're talking
about. Also, one or two people might have just asked a FAQ or two just
to get the humorous responses :-)

Hmmmm. Seems to me if you've been reading for quite a while now you'd
notice that siteswaps were explained a few days ago. Try the FAQ - I'd
explain it now but its 10:25pm and I have to leave the country tomorrow
morning.

Not easy, mainly because they're poorly weighted. A common thought is
"Oh, just take the blades off, and you'll be okay." I've heard stories
of guys getting fingers caught in the chain, with or without blades
expects to get pretty badly mangled (plus free magnifying glass for
finding body parts!) What most people do is to actually disconnect the
motor from the chain - the motor runs but the chain doesn't. Sounds
impressive, and looks impressive from five feet away.

That's a pretty complicated pattern. Hope you can catch three balls in
the same hand at once, and somehow have balls magically appear in your
right hand at will, and get a video camera on you for proof, and ...

Thanks for the tip about the phone number - not that anybody has used
it yet. Suddenly paranoia strikes - worried about people calling me
up and making obscene juggling noises :)
