Someone recently informed me that the collective noun for jugglers is
a "neverthriving". Apparently this term was coined in the 15th century
and implies there is absolutely no living whatsoever to be earned as a
travelling juggler. Hmm, how things have changed :-}

Has anyone else come across this term, or any other terms to describe
a collection of jugglers. Personally I'm quite taken with being part
of a "neverthriving" :-)

Yes, I've heard this, also. I've also heard that the proper term
for a group of dentists is a "chatter."

If words could speak, I wonder what they'd say?
If you can't say something nice, say something surrealistic.
If you don't go to other people's funerals, they won't go to yours.

"Has anyone else come across this term..."

Yup. A few years ago in an English class I looked it up in a book of collective
nouns, and there it was, a "neverthriving."

Ok then, while we're at it:

The collective noun for bankers is a 'wunch'.

I suggest (tho' I'm sure it's an obvious pun and been suggested many times
before) that a good collective noun for a group of jugglers has to
ne a "Shower".

ps I suppose you could have "Club" also

"neverthriving" might be the One True Noun, but personally, I think
that a "club" of jugglers has a certain ring to it.

My favorite collective noun related to our activity is:

An unemployment of jugglers. Kind of says it all. I posted
this a couple of years ago but repetition doesn't hurt.

Hi,
several weeks ago I read an article in the American Journal of Physics
about "the physics of juggling".
I simply cannot recall the reference. Would anybody out there know
this or related articles and could send me the corresponding
references ?
Thank you very much.
