I ordered a few different sets of balls from jugglingstore.com to see
which ones I liked the best.

Was curious if anybody is actively using these sets, and what their
opinion is.
I feel the SRX Russian's are way too wobbly. Not sure if this was
only apparent in the three I ordered, or in all batches.

Here are the sets I ordered to try out and my thoughts:

1. SRX Russian Ball 78

Sort of like a Russian Ball, with a vinyl/rubbery feel to them. Nice
Size for juggling up to 7 balls, very nice feel. They have a nice
round shape when holding them, but still quite a bit of squish to
them. They immediately return to a round shape when you release the
pressure. Probably one of the best feels of a juggling ball I've come
across.

I believe they are filled with fine quartz sand.

Problem is the set of 3 I was trying out have a significant wobble to
them. Quite apparent. When juggling 2 in one hand lower it wasn't as
noticeable, but when juggling a 3b cascade higher, or three in one
hand, I noticed it quite a bit. Not sure why a Russian Ball, filled
with sand or NaCl, has little to no wobble, but the SRX, filled with
thin sand, does have one.

Anybody using these in practice? Anybody notice a wobble too? I
think this would be very annoying to juggle, trying to do a 6 or 7
ball pattern, watching the balls wiggle back and forth in the air.

2. Sil-X ball.
A nice feel to these. They are a bit flexible, though I wouldn't say
a "squish" to them. Certainly more solid than the SRX Russian Balls.
Filled with a silicone, you can just barely hear it sloshing around
inside the ball. Very stable, no wobble, though I would put it in the
stage ball category.

Let's say there are three categories, with solid stage balls,
beanbags, and the "hybrid" category which includes like the Russian
balls with filler and the SRX (like a ball, but squishy).

The Sil-X had very much a stage ball feel to them. Nice, but they do
not come to a dead bounce at all. You can do body rolls and head
rolls with them.
I like these a lot, but don't like that they would be rolling
everywhere when dropped.

Anybody using the Sil-X? What do you think?

Overall, the SRX Russian's I like better, with the feel, but the
wobbly-ness of them could be a huge dealbreaker for me.

Thoughts from any jugglers who are working with these?

regarding SRX,... a piece of advice, remove the plug, let air come in and
out and then close them again. i do it from time to time when i feel they
are not the same when i got them... about that wobble - that happens if you
apply spin (even small amounts). it took some time to get used to them
after normal beanbags - now i basically try to use forearms and less wrists
and it made my juggling much easier and pattern looks better. i recently
started to work on 7ball. to be quite honest, they are the best balls i
used and i really love them! basically and foot/neck/elbow catch is much
easier. only bad thing i can remember is they pick colour real fast, so
don't put white near red ones, or even white ones on a piece of freshly
printed paper because they will suck ink from it!

regarding Sil-X.. i use one 100m (300grams) for contact juggling - i feel
that they are great for body rolls, muuch much better than standard
stageball because it's heavier. but i didn't use them for toss juggling,
somehow i have feeling i wouldn't like them? :)

I've recently started using sil-x balls and I like the feel of them very
much. My only problem is with the sizes, I find the 67mm slightly too
small and light and the 78mm too large. I'd really love sil-x if they were
70mm and 120g - 130g.
