Only got till Saturday morning to decide which brand of ammo to use.
I ordered a "smooth" bore barrel via mail order cause I had eight
boxes of foster type slugs. INSTEAD they sent me the rifled barrel by
mistake...the one with firesights ;) I have to add I paid $79 for the
barrel and $10 shipping...is that a deal or what?
I don't have time to send it back before first day of gun season here
in Arkansas. I've been told to NOT shoot fosters cause it will foul
up the barrel. So, which is the best for the 24" rifled mossberg
barrel? DO NOT give me opinions on othere makes (ie...Rem, Browning,
Ithaca...). Time is wasting away.
Thanks,
Stuart

Lightfield makes good slugs, but they might not like your particular gun's
barrel. Different ammunition performs differently in similar guns, so what
might work great in my gun might not give you the best results.
My suggestion would be to get several different brands and shoot them all.
Your gun will tell you which one you should be shooting.

Winchester BRI sabots, when I used to use a Moss 500 with rifled barrel.
However, despite what you say above, I remember at least one season when
I used only Winchester foster slugs. I remember I had very good accuracy with
those in my rifled mossberg barrel. I must have only taken 3-4 shots the whole
season so cleaning wasn't as big a deal as one might think.
