Have not seen a new post here for over a month and summer tends to tune
rec.hunting down but it is only 6 weeks until bow season opens here in DE.

Got my PA license and requests for doe permits ready to mail.
Some are available for in-staters now but not me. I have to wait for
end of month.

Also got DE exempt hunter (>65) permit. No cost, no license needed but
number still required to hunt, register deer and get state deer stands.

Still have to get a state park permit and apply for federal wildlife
area stands.

Seems like I spend more time with paperwork than actually pulling the
trigger ;)

We start food plots here in MS in the midst of Sept so the heat does not burn them out. Not much to do until then.

On our place, we have saw tooth oaks and red oaks as well as persimmons. I am adding some good blackberries to increase warm season retention of deer. We are thinking about how to put in attractive warm weather food crops that take little to no attention. Any suggestions?
