Haven't had a new posting here since January 2018. Any ideas?

I have no clue what is going on or how to fix it. I have the feeling that many newsnet programs are not able to send msgs to the list/group so they never show up in the moderator's inbox.

I got a new computer, and no matter what I try, can't get
news.eternal-september.org to work with Thunderbird. So only time I see
this is on TB 2 on an old desktop. So know myself I've given up on the
newsgroups. Still look when I'm downstairs on the old box though.

Sadly, usenet in general is just about dead. There are a few groups I'm
in that are reasonably active (pretty much all either programming or
science fiction related), but pretty much all the activity on nearly all
the groups has moved to web forums or facebook.

I was just looking at what I posted last November:

"Have not been out this year and don't miss it. With only public land
available they are not making it easier for us old folks. Close stands
I liked to bow hunt are now handicapped only and I'm not handicapped.

Fun while it lasted and I like the memories and thinking about it. I'll
miss getting up at 3 am to get out by 4 am to claim a deer stand at 5 am
and drive out to parking area and walking a mile and a quarter with pack
and gun to sit in a stand all day and not see a deer.

Don't have anything to contribute to group anymore and see everybody
else here seems to have quit to."

Not hunting anymore, I thought I could still talk about it. I think it
is the decline of use net that started years ago when major isps stopped
free subscriptions and the flood of new people not knowing about how to
access or get free access.

No problem with my newer laptop. If you cannot connect to e-s you might
try aioe.org also free. I forgot what I did with TB but tried to copy
my profile from the older desktop without success but they say it could
be done. You need your username and pw to get connected to e-s.
Maybe something to try is copying your whole TB directory to the new
machine. news.mozilla.org has a TB group and people know a lot there.

Science fiction related, now that got my attention. Are they usenet groups??

I have found a couple of email lists which discuss s-f and related genre but I don't remember finding any usenet groups when I did a casual search years ago.

The usenet SF groups all have names that start with rec.arts.sf -- I
read rec.arts.sf.movies, rec.arts.sf.tv, and rec.arts.sf.written, all of
which are active enough I don't have time to read every post. No
guarantee your news feed carries them, of course; I use
news.eternal-september.org which does.
