Not sure what you are referring to. Is this something you read on-line?

So far I have not found anything recent which talks about Cabelas and Gander Mtn. and mail order all in the same article.

With the recent news of Bass Pro attempting to buy Cabelas (not a done deal) I would think that any plan by Cabelas to buy any competitor or competing outdoor sport related service would be front page news, especially in the business section.

The articles I am finding are from 20 years ago when Cabelas did buy the Gander Mountain mail order catalog sales business. Then, in the late 1990s Gander sued Cabelas over some use of domain names when Gander wanted to get into on-line catalog sales.

Looks like a done deal:

No? The articles I've been reading have certainly given the impression
that it had been agreed to. Is there still hope after all?

The message sent by "brade...@GMAIL.COM" is about Cabelas buying Gander Mountain's mail order business not the recently announced buyout of Cabelas by Bass Pro Shops. Two different things plus the only news I find on the mail order issue is 15 to 20 years old.

The business deal between Cabelas and Bass Pro has been worked out but it is not final. The federal govt still has to have its say in this and their decision will not come until spring of 2017. The feds have blocked such mergers in the past and I can see some restrictions put on this one before it is said and done.

The article at this link puts it into perspective a lot better than I can.

That makes sense. It take a while and government approval to make them
go through.
