Michigan Fall turkey hunting

i just bought my fall turkey hunting application, and was surprised at
the change. Usually one would just buy the application, then mail it
in after having a chance to choose one's area at leisure (relatively:
it has to be in by August 1).
Also different was that there were only 3 areas open. 2 areas had a 3
hunts spread throughout the month of October (with them getting longer
as the month goes on), but one area was for the entire month.
A nice surprise was that you could rank all 7 choices, increasing the
chance that you would get something.
In case you are wondering: the choices are Isabella county;
Presque Isle, Montmorency, and Alpena; and Emmet, Charlevoix, Antrim,
Otsego, and Cheboygan are the choices, with the last group being the
one open for the entire month, with 3,200 licenses available.
