Interesting thing to me about story is that it is shotgun season here
in Delaware and hunter, if not a felon, could have legitimately shot
the deer as all are legal.
The incident started at 9pm when the car and deer collided. I would
think that the recovered deer was released while it was still well
before sun-up. The guy who pulled over and started shooting is
probably violating several hunting and/or gun laws.

Right in that shooting time ends a half hour after sunset and next
day, Sunday, hunting is not allowed.
I've seen no further details but article in local paper mentioned that
they actually drove the deer, still stuck in the bumper, to the police
station a mile away.
Also spotlighting of any sort is forbidden in Delaware.
If there is any follow up story, I'll post url.

Says it happened on a Friday and they don't call the deer a buck (if it
was a buck it would have to be a button buck).
No, I changed title when I replied to my reply. Original post on "Lucky
buck" was local story but I posted thread in NY paper, who screwed it up
by calling antlerless deer a buck and changing day of incident. Just
goes to show you cannot believe a lot of the stuff you read in the
paper. I'm even suspicious about the original article, knowing what
screwups the local Gannet chain are.
