#My brand new version of the Blue Book of Gun Values does not list a S/W
#model 629 with a 3 inch barrel they list 4, 6, 8 3/8 barrel lengths
#But anyway the MSRP on that handgun is
#$738.00
#100% $515.00
#98% $450.00
#95% $325.00
I have heard of this gun, the one with a 3" barrel. But, it seems like
it was more of an offbeat revolver and just not as common as the
others manufactured by S&W.
With that in mind I went and looked at a couple of annual
books/magazines for the last two years and did not find mention of a
629 with a 3" barrel. So, unless this is really some sort of real rare
piece then the prices mentions by Brian should be in the ballpark.
Selling to some stocking dealers for their used gun shelve will
probably result in a lot less money. Just depends on how fast you want
to get it off of your hands.
But, now you have piqued my interest. What state is the gun living in
right now?

If you check out this guy's page you'll see that a few thousand were

The 3 inch M629 was a run of 5,000 made for Lew Horton Dist. Company.
Book value about $400-$550. What you actually get will depend on how
hungry the buyer is.
