Thanks ahead of time.
PS if it works I'll use it for fishing this summer.
No experience with that at all so I can't say but there are zero reviews
at LL Bean.
For mosquitoes I typically used the Skin So Soft bath oil - works great.
For ticks, I swear by Duranon. Spray your hunting clothes with it, let
it dry, and it's good for 6 weeks (if you believe them). A tick gets on
your clothes, it's dead. It's always a good idea though after a day
afield to do a tick check when you get home. Check everywhere!
(obviously you'll need someone REALLY friendly to help ;-) )
We just bought some property in the Adirondacks a year or so ago that
has black fly issues until around July. A local swears by Avon IR-3535
for skeeters and blackflies. We got some and I'm gonna try it out up
there.

Thanks ahead of time.
I have tried many different sonic pest repelling systems, I have yet to find
one that works. Plus, I'm not willing to risk any additional noise in the
deer woods, their sense of hearing is good enough, I don't want to risk
anything additionally.
I've used the ThermaCell system for spring black bear hunting and it's
worked well for bears, so I see no reason why it wouldn't work as well for
deer. The only downside to the ThermaCell is it works best under calm wind
conditions.
The best possible mosquito system for all conditions is totally covering up
all exposed skin, up to and including a head net. The only thing is, you
better practice shooting your bow while wearing the bug suit.
Where I turkey hunt, there are tons of ticks. I cannot remember exactly the
name of the product I used but I believe it's Permanone. Like a previous
poster stated, spray it on your clothing, let it dry and wear it. I spray
down my boots, pants, jacket, gloves, hat and headnet. Then to eliminate
the possibility of ticks climbing under my pant legs, I either blouse them
into my boots or tape the legs shut.

The active ingredient is called Permethrin. Here's a link to the tick
stuff that I use: http://tinyurl.com/42bawl

I wear a head net and gloves but sometimes use Off. I took a doe once
that came right into the breeze blowing my Off scent to her. Nothing
for ticks but I will tighten pants around ankles. I always shower at
the end of the day. I think it takes awhile for deer ticks to dig in
and they should wash off. There is a lot of Lymes disease here but I
never got it. Once went to the doctor with the bullseye rash but he
said it was a chigger bite. He proscribed antibiotics and I took the
test (negative) to be on the safe side. Deer ticks are tiny and hard to
spot.
I doubt if the sonic products work.
