Is it a local thing, supply & demand, more apparent than real? But my buddies tell me they can't find any on shelves in Twin Cities area.

Not sure if it is local or not. I have noticed that it is hard to
find handgun ammo at any of the big box types of stores. I was
looking for some 357 Mag last month and found something close to what
I wanted at a small gun shop. You might have to go to the bigger gun
shops and pay a premium for what you are looking for, especially if
it is self-defense. I see more target grade ammo on the shelves which
is why I bring up the self-defense aspect.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems but it will annoy
enough people to be worth the effort.

Forgot about the mail-order or on-line order. It is worth
investigating. What we do it get a bunch together and do a "group
buy". Here is how we would do it for ammo, powder, primers or
bullets. I will use the powder ordering as the example.

One guy has to be in charge of it. I would often be that person. I
let everyone know that we would be ordering powder from a certain
business and that they could only order the 4 or 8 pound containers
(that way I did not have to deal with the small one or two pound
orders) and since I was doing the work everyone had to deal with my rules.

Add up the pounds of powder and divide that into the total shipping
costs for the cost per pound to ship. Each person paid for his/her
powder and then their fair share of the shipping costs. We would meet
at a grill or restaurant and I got a free burger and beer for my efforts.

We have done this for years and it allows us to order at volume discounts.
