I would like to start an open discussion on my message board about Rompolas
potential world record deer.

I feel that after all I have read, this will be a valuable way to get the
hunters feelings on this out in the open.

If you care to participate go to www.angelfire.com/il/deerhuntertwo and
post your opinion on the "real hunting message board"

Thanks

Would you mind explaining how discussion on 'your' message board is a
better avenue than, ....... this ng, for example, wrt exposing hunter's
opinions about the Rompola buck.

After many weeks of careful study on this matter and many hours of serious
research, I have determined for sure that I don't know what I think. But, had
I shot that deer, we all would have seen and heard me talk about it the day
after the kill. Makes you wonder why Mitch has not. My $0.02

If this buck was farmed raised it would be worth alot more money alive than
dead. One straw from this deer could be worth up over 50,000 , off spring
bucks 10,000 up. It still might be farmed raised and Romp is an idiot
forshooting it, but really you could not keep a deer like this a secret, do
you think. I still think there is somthing up with this deer but there will
be doubht until proven. So prove it Romp!

Check out the latest issue of Outdoor Life, it's got a large
article about his buck and it doesn't look like he's been telling
us everything.

Since Mitch has not had it measured and isn't making any public claims,
isn't it up to the people who believe it to be pen raised to prove it?

Maybe to the 'farmer'.

One straw from this deer could be worth up over 50,000 , off spring

That's a long ways from predicted projections of a WR's "worth".

It still might be farmed raised and Romp is an idiot

It's been dead for 5 months and it is STILL a big secret, so in answer
to the above - yes.

I still think there is somthing up with this deer but there will

Hear, hear ! I think we're well beyond required 'drying time' .... are
we not ?? There seems to be a sentiment in some of these (Rompola buck)
threads that Rompola just did it to 'have' the WR, but that he won't
allow B&C to score it (something seems about 180 degrees out of phase
with that statement). If that truly be the case, then this Rompola
character is either a prima-donna or an idiot ! I await wrath for that
statement.

Your statement above (i.e. "there is something up with this deer") best
sums up this fiasco.

After reading the Outdoor Life article I came to this ng to see if we were
any wiser...I guess we are all still in the dark. I heard Chuck (Grin)
Adams got a record Mulie in Alberta, anyone know the size?

Here we go again.

Personally, I think that there is the possibility something is fishy with the
buck, but without any proof one way or another, saying more would be futile.
Until we hear from Rompala or from B&C on the buck, that is.

All of the uninformed speculatation one way or the other on this issue is
just so much hot air. Would those pointing fingers and their respondents
please refer back to February's posts instead of airing out again here.

No disrespect intended.

Actually, the fact that rompola has not done anything 'official' with it
may, in itself, be proof in the pudding.

Hey Todd,
Saw an article in the Freep this week, now he says he never claimed its a
world record and won't get it measured, well, maybe by CBM.
Here's the story:
