Can anyone give me some info on this? I heard that the lottery will be
starting up soon, and I want to make sure I get my name in. Some
general questions: How many permits can I get? How much are they each?
What does a non-resident license cost?
Thanks!!!
Matt

The best thing to do is call the Wyoming Game and Fish Department in
Cheyenne (307)777-4600 or write them at: Wyoming Game & Fish Department
5400 Bishop Bvld.
Cheyenne, WY 82006-0001

They will send you the Applications, maps and all the other goodies you
will need.

Two Licences are available to non-residents... the Buck license $155.00
and the Doe/Fawn license of which you can buy several depending on the
area you hunt in. Last year these permits were $25.00. They, however,
are not type 1 permits so you need to check the map to make sure the
area coincides with your primary hunt area. I don't know if any changes
have been made in the laws this year so a call to them can't hurt.

good hunting

You will want to hunt out of Gillette. Lots of animals. Tags are tough to
get, however. Used to be we would buy them over the counter for does at
$25 each. All the residents buy them up now. Gillette is the best
area...but getting a tag is tough. The whole state has experienced huge
winter kill and deer tag cutbacks. For this reason, the locals...who need
the meat...have turned to antelope which are considered pests in Gillette
area. They are getting hunted harder than ever due to the deer tag
cutbacks and have been hunted hard with few tags left. This is why I quit
hunting Wyoming last year.

I have hunted the area south and west of Rawlins for the past ten years.
Key to success on a real keeper is to get out of the car/truck, walk and
glass everywhere. The guys who ride the dirt roads will end up with a goat
but not a good one.
