They should have done it sooner.

No sales tax here in Delaware. Not quite zero as retailer pays about
3/4 of a percent but consumer pays nothing.

It had been cheaper for me to have stuff shipped rather than go to their
store 75 miles away in PA with 7% sales tax. Mall's only about
ten miles away from me. Malls in Delaware are crowded with out of state
shoppers, mostly PA, MD and NJ.

Nothing against Cabelas but I have found that the prices at most
local mom & pop shops are so close that it is easier to just go to
them. It is cheaper than paying the gas to drive. My area Cabela's is
about 60 miles away and off of the expressway. However, I have found
one item at Cabela's that I cannot find in the catalogs yet or at any
local store.

On the plus side it is nice to go to a Cabelas for the Sunday stroll
on a stormy afternoon. I have a local Bass Pro Shops that we have
used for those strolls.

Now, if I had one being built 10 miles away it would be a whole new
ball game <grinning>.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems but it will annoy
enough people to be worth the effort.

Lot of hunting/shooting stuff just not available locally and I find my
fingers doing the shopping at Cabelas, Bass Pro and Midway.

Don't know what local impact will be but Dicks at other end of mall will
probably suffer.

As for browsing Cabelas, even my wife who is not a hunter/shooter,
enjoyed it. I tend to avoid the mall but will be spending a lot more
time there in two years.
