I live on the NY/PA border and am looking to buy a good climbing treestand. I am just getting back into hunting after many years of knee problems (just got the damn thing replaced!!!). I am getting my courage up to get a tree stand. The last one I used was a Baker that I had about twenty years ago. Alot has changed since then. I need one that is easy to climb, comfortable and that I can use for both bow and rifle. I haven't found any good comparisons in any of magazines or on the net. So I figured I would let you experts out there help me out.....

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks!!

Unless the area that you hunt has lots of trees with bare trunks may I make
an alternate suggestion? I hunt northern Wisconsin and have found that when
using a climbing stand, I had to do a lot of limb trimming. I went to using
an API Baby Grand strap on style stand and a climbing stick. I've found
that it's a lot quieter to set up, quieter and easier to get into, I don't
get as sweated up getting into the tree and it's more comfortable than most
climbers. Best of all, even though I had to buy two different components, I
paid less than most climbing stands.

but that's just me,
