We live in the country and have an English Setter who runs free during
the day but stays in the garage at night. He is a great pet and,
during the day seems to behave fairly well. He will come when called
and is a delight as a pet. The problem starts when it is time to come
into the garage for the evening. He seems to take on a different
temperament and won't come when called. He just takes off into the
woods on a hunting foray. Apparently he enjoys his night time
hunting forays and just doesn't want to come in. He stays on the
property but runs through the pasture and woods as though he is
hunting. Eventually he will tire from this and will come in but it is
on his terms, not ours. How can we change his behavior so that he
will always come when called? Thanks for any help.
