small UHF tranceiver ???

I'm looking for two small (inexpensive) UHF transceivers for a telemetry
project.

Long, long ago I remember a little dinky HT called a "Tokyo Hi Power labs
HT-7" three channel crystal controlled tiny HT in an aluminum case that ran
off of AA batteries. A pair of them would be ideal.

Any ideas?????

How about the Alinco DJ-C5? Pros: small, dual band, VFO tuned. Cons:
May be hard to interface with a TNC/Modem/Tracker (it does have a
speaker-mic connector and pinout in manual though), low power, strange
antenna connector. Runs all day on built-in NiMH battery.
