Romanian AK-47 (WASR-10 or SAR-1)

I just went to a gun show and there were several booths selling those
Romanian AK-47s. That was the first I'd ever heard of them. They were
selling the WASR-10 and SAR-1 for $339. I have a few questions.

1) What is your opinion of the rifle?

2) Is $339 a good price?

3) For that price which model is the better value?

4) I kept hearing about them having a common problem of "Canted Sights"
What exactly does that mean? How can you tell if they are canted? Is that a
problem that can easily be remedied or is it a permanent defect?

I have the SAR-1. Bought it 3 months ago for $350. I like it alot,
it's fun and cheap to shoot.

Some of the older guns suffer from trigger slap, mine was made in 2001
and doesn't have that problem. The year manfactured is stamp by the
serial number.

The canted sights problem was due to some poor assembly and can be
repaired with a sight tool. The rear sight, gas tube and front sight
should be in a straight line. Once again the newer guns don't seem to
suffer from this. Point of impact for mine is low and slightly right
at 50 yards, but I think it's me and not the gun.

The only complaint I had was the butt stock was too short for me but
that problem was solved by picking up a 1" butt pad for $10 at the gun
show.

The thing I really like is 960 rounds of 7.62x39 was $80 at the show
versus $70 for 500 rounds of .45 ACP.
