Hi,
I have a replica of a Winchester 1892 lever action made by Armi San
Marco in .45 Colt. I was wondering if anyone has information on this
company? I did some research on the web and was only able to find that
they were pretty much defunct. My questions are, how much was this gun
when new and is it very good? By looking at it, the rifle looks to be
rather well made and the fit and finish is better then most Winchester
replicas I have seen. The thing that bothers me about it is that the
sear literally wore out enough that the thing started a 'Lucas McCain'
routine when I would work the lever. Scared the heck out of me when I
worked the lever and it just fired without pulling the trigger as the
lever closed. The gunsmith who fixed it said these Italian rifles use a
soft steel for the part that failed in my rifle and that they generally
have these issues in as little as 500 rounds. But, I see many of these
replica Winchester and Henry rifles used in cowboy action shooting and
even saw one just like mine being used by a lady on a Television
documentary on cowboy action shooting. Although I use a lot of bolt
action rifles and semi autos, I am pretty new to lever guns so I am just
curious. If these Italian rifles are prone to failures of critical
parts, I'd like to know from others who do a lot of shooting with lever
actions. This rifle I own, since being fixed, has been shooting fine.

I'm not sure, but I think that today the company is Armisport by Chiappa
Rino.....
some shooters referred me that his old San Marco 92 suffered of various
problems, today quality is improved in the new company.
I will refere to you more info next time, after making some phonecalls

you're in the need to contact them by phone and you're outside of Italy just
dial 0039 before eac one of the numbers written below.
Sorry for my bad english.

Hi Vito,
Thank You! This rifle is really finished nice. It has much finer
fit and finish then other '92 reproduction rifles I have seen and tried.
I was interested in finding the company just in case I need to replace
that sear again. So far, since being repaired, the rifle has worked
fine. I now know the signs of failure so I know what to look out for.
What happens is the trigger pull starts getting lighter and lighter over
about 50 rounds then it all of a sudden starts firing as soon as you
pull the lever all the way up. Anyway, I'll check them out and see.
Again, thank you for the information and the time you took finding
these numbers.
