Miwall Wholesale Ammo in Grass Valley, CA seems to have some good deals
on ammo. Anyone dealt with this company? If so, what is your
experience.

Thanks

Deal with them at local Southern California gun shows all the time. Fair
prices and pleasant people to deal with. My son really likes how their .223
52 gr. JHP match reloads group out of his bolt action. Now that they have a
website, we don't have to visit them at the shows as much. I hope they can
keep up with demand on their reload ammo. Previously they restricted non gun
show sales to seasons when they had less gun show commitments.

Generally good results. I have purchased thousands of rounds from them. One
time, they had a problem with the primers in their .38 special reloads being
set too deeply and my revolver's firing pin could not set them off. Even so,
that was a handful out of a can of 500 rounds. Another time, with their .45
acp reloads, the bullet crimp was insufficient, and rounds did not feed well
when the bullet fell into the case upon loading (this was with ammo sold to
a community college class - only 1911-types had a problem; the Glock and HK
shooters were ok). Both times, they exchanged the ammo. Their 9mm reloads do
not cycle well in my Glock 17 (maybe 1 out of 20 rounds fails). Beretta,
Browning HP, and S&W shooters never see this problem. At least one other
Glock 17 shooter has. I have NEVER had a problem with Miwall ammo made from
new components.

I have also shot their .44 spec, .44 mag, .45 colt ammo, and .223 rem, but
in nowhere near the quantity of the aforementioned calibers. No problems
with these. They have good deals at the gun shows on other ammo (Winchester
and Federal, usually) but I have not comparison shopped these much.

Mostly, I reload now, and they have decent prices on primers and powder.

Disclaimer: the owner of Miwall co-owns an indoor range in Grass Valley, and
I am a member of that range. No other affiliation.

They're a fixture at the Crossroads gun shows and my usual source of ammunition.

At the gun shows, they don't take checks, so it's cash or credit card.

Their prices are generally quite competitive.

Jeb, last year I bought and ran over 10,000 rounds of .40 cal though my
Glock from them. They make the best reloads I've found. Over the years I've
shot upwards of 50,000 rounds of various calibers from them with no
problems, and there prices can't be beat. (At least here in thenot so great
state of California).

Miwall sets up at all the major gunshows on the west coast. They sell
ammo by the truck load. At the last show, one fellow who worked there
told me some of their customers would show up once in a while with a
truck and bought pallets of ammo from them!

Their prices on powders, primers and ammo are quite competitive,
especially when I can just buy from them at local gunshow and save on
shipping/hazmat charges.

Excellent ammo, never a problem, very consistent ignition.
I buy it regularly for test ammo for my customer's guns.
The real problem is they don't sell it far and wide. The last time I
talked to them, they were thinking of widening their selling area, but I
know nothing of their success.

All the stuff I buy from Midwall goes bang when I shoot
it..................they come to a local (Portland Oregon) gunshow so I buy
it then.

They sell major amounts of ammo at all the major CA gunshows.
Their prices on new factory ammo and reloading components is great.
I never buy their reloaded ammo so cannot comment on that.

Some examples:
new Winchester 9mm Nato spec (124gr) ammo for $65/500 rounds.
ww primers (wsp/wlp) for $12.50/1000
surplus British Radway-Green 7.62 ammo for $64/400 rnds.

Pretty hard to beat that.

I have no connection to them, just a satisfied customer.

I live across town from where they operate, so I go and pick up
components for a good price when they have a sale at The Range. I
havn't shot alot of their stuff since I reload myself, but the times I
have it all seemed pretty consistant with only a couple .223 rounds that
had a slightly buckled case due to excessive crimp, but that was a ways
back and all the pistol stuff I've shot recently has been good. Seems to
be a good outfit with nice people running it.

Don't know that I would call their prices wholesale, but they are very
competitive. I bought several boxes of 9mm and 45 acp at a gun show this
year. All worked flawlessly. One caveat: If you buy at a gun show, verify
price and item before they ring it up and again after. They were very busy
and the guy ringing me up made a couple mistakes. Did not want to give me a
receipt. After he did, I caught the errors.
