Cabela's shows them on their Web site and makes no mention of them being
out of stock, although that might pop up as a surprise as you try to
check out.

I know you said online but the local Bass Pro Shop had three boxes last ime
I was there. After I left they only had two.
I was planning on using Winchester 231 behind mine. Whats are you going to
use?

Naw, Cabelas will let you know if an item is on backorder when you put
it in your shopping cart (or even if you add it to your wish list).
I have had some good luck getting backordered items quickly, but have
also been unable to get some items (after so many days on backorder,
they cancel your order).
Good luck,
Brig
George, This will be the first time around for reloading 45 ACP. I
will have much testing to do with severel load combinations. I would
like to hear about favorites others may have!
Thanks to all!
I have only used 700X and Win 231.The 700X is my primary shotshell powder.
The 231 was bought for the .45.

98% of my 45 ACP loads are 200 gr Berry bullets.
That seems a bit redundant - those 2 powders have virtually identical
burning rates, showing up as #26 and #28 in the burning rate table.

The number of Stars on the powder weight is indicating quality. e.g. ** gave
score wanted. * worked well enough but not perfect.
This sheet was developed by a gun test person.
Compare this to what you can find. I have other bullets by other companies.
Cut and paste into a spreadsheet or table.

I've been loading 45ACP and 45 Auto Rim for apx 40 years. The most
accurate load you can launch from a 45 Auto is a bullet weighing apx
200 grs and a charge of 4.0 grs of Bullseye. Not by any means a long
range load and there are many better combinations for official
purposes. If you like printing tiny clusters on paper targets,
anywhere from 15-35 yards. Need plenty of oomph to operate the auto
load and want the maximum in shot to shot accuracy you can't beat it.
The load will work with fine with either jacketed or low cost lead
bullets.
The only caution with this load is the small but potent powder charge.
One has to be careful not to double charge a case. Be extremely
cautious especially if you use a progressive loader. A double charge
will not over flow. Eyeball each and every powder charge.
+1 on that!
200gr. semi-wadcutters and Bullseye powder are where it's at for my .45 ACP
shooting.
Good shooting,
desmobob
They may have similar burning rates but a quick check of the Hogdon Powders
web site for 1 1/8 Oz loads doesn't list a single load for 231; there are
several for 700X.
