If you have seen this month's Shooting Times, you know that Leupold
bought the Redfield name, and is manufacturing a $149 US-made hunting
scope at its Beaverton, Oregon factory.

It's nothing flashy, but the reviews indicate it is a well made,
economical scope that is positioned to go head to head with the mid-
range imports. Leupold is offering their standard lifetime warranty on
new Redfield scopes, but is not doing warranty service on old Redfield
scopes.

There is a Redfield web site up, but so far there isn't much on it.

Sure, Ill buy one, why not. To me it's a Leupold. My last buy from
them was I believe a Rifleman and I have no complaints. Its as good
as I need for what I do, and under $200 fits right in my budget. Im
glad to see at least the Redfield name is on it made by a quality USA
company which is rare by todays standards. Unlike Leupold I hope they
at least put some lens caps in the box, but no big deal...

Ray,
