I HAVE A GLOCK 17 AND IT ALWAYS JAMS WHEN I SHOOT IT. I PUT AT LEAST 50
ROUNDS THROUGH IT EVERY MONTH AND IT JAMS. I CLEAN IT AS GOOD AS I CAN
AFTER EVERY TIME I SHOOT IT BUT WHEN I GO BACK TO THE RANGE A SHELL ALWAYS
GETS STUCK. WHAT IS WRONG AND WHAT CAN I DO. PLEASE POST A MESSAGE OR

Do what all Glock owners do. Send it back to Glock.

First, do us a favour.... DON'T SHOUT... We can hear you just fine.

How do you hold it? Glcoks are very suspetible to a weak hold. Do not have
a limp wrist when shooting it. Hold it tight. Many new glock shooters have
this problem. Most of them hold it too loosely; so when it fires; some of
the recoil goes to moving the entire gun rather than just the slide.
Good luck!

Don't have to shout. Start with the ammo. Is it reloads?
Always start with trying different ammo and watch the reloads.
Some people reload for their Glocks, I don't. I just reload for my
Colt 45.
Check your magazines, make sure they're in good shape.
Check your shooting style (like your wrist) and so on.
Last, take it to your Gunsmith to check out. If that doesn't work,
mail it back to Glock with detailed information.

I hear ya, its a pain when something goes wrong with your semi-auto.
I've had problems too, like all of us at one time or another.

C0RROSION: I can't help you with your problem, but I can tell you this:
I bought a Model 17 in its original box from a local pawn shop/gun store.
Checking the serial number I found it was one of the first ones made. I
had heard that Glock had made some upgrades to the Model 17 and wanted to
be sure to take advantage of them. I called them in Georgia
(404-432-1202) and spoke to a man in customer service. He couldn't have
been more cooperative. He told me to send the gun back UPS and that they
would retrofit it with new parts. They not only did this but sent the gun
back with a new case. Total time 2.5 weeks. They are the best
manufacturer I have ecer dealt with. Of course, they didn't charge me and
they encouraged me to call if I had any questions or further complaints.

Send your gun back. They'll certainly fix it properly and I will be very
surprised if they charge you anything for it. Good luck.

Brian

I might need a bit more information, in order to get a handle on this,
and even then, it's kind of like getting a physical over the phone.

1.What Ammo are you using?
2.Is only one kind of ammo causing problems?
3.How many mags do you have?
4.Is the same magazine causing the problem?
5.What kind of "jam" are you having?
a) Failure to feed ?
b) Failure to extract ?
c) Failure to Eject ?
6.When the gun fuctions properly, does most of the ejected brass land in
the same area?
7.Is Ejection Brisk?
8.What direction does the ejected brass take? use the clock for a
description and make 12:00 the direction of the muzzle.
9.Any modifications, or non Glock Parts or Magazines?

i sent C0RROSION an email note, but have to reply to this. _don't_
send your gun back just yet. your problem sounds like the classic
"limp wristing" jam. find someone used to shooting Glocks and see
if they have the same problem first. learning how to get a proper
grip on the gun may very well clear up the problem.

if it turns out that the gun is at fault after all, i'm sure you'll
find Glock customer service to be very helpful. i did.

Hold the gun in a TIGHT two-handed "Weaver" stance and see if this still
happens. Push forward with the strong hand, pull back with the weak.

The problem is the gun moving excessively under recoil, which interferes
with proper ejection.

If this doesn't help, we can talk more off-line.

Are you holding your hand stiff when you fire, or are you allowing it
pistol to "ride up"? I've found that almost every time I've had a jam
with an autoloader, it's because I wasn't holding it firmly, and the
recoil-induced rotation of the pistol was screwing up the usual motion
of the slide.

<AP> In a move that has toy industry insiders buzzing, the ABC Toy
Company, manufacturer of the Zebra gun, a child's plastic toy pistol
that fires small yellow plastic balls, has filed a patent-infringement
suit against Glock Gmbh in the U.S. District Court. When asked for
comment, an ABC company spokesman said,"Well, for one thing, the
trigger feels exactly the same as ours..."

In a related story, still no word on whether Kodak will file a similar
suit on the grounds that the Glock's trigger pull is reminiscent of
both the feel and sound of the shutter release on an instamatic
camera.

Well that was a rude comment made obviously by a non Glock
owner...There are a few comments here that may address your concern.

If your are getting stove pipes, your ammo may be too weak for the
recoil spring...are you using factory ammo or reloads? Also check your
over all length on the rounds. The cartridge may be hitting the bottom
of the ramp. This symptom of this problem is "It locks open when I
still have ammo in the magazine."

You may not have a firm enough grip on the gun and are unintentionally
"limp-wristing." This is more common than people like to admit.

If you are having a problem with the slide not going into battery or
coming out of battery when you start your trigger pull, the recoil
spring may be too weak.

Have you changed magazine springs recently?

Really, I need to know what the gun is doing to diagnose the problem.
Please e-mail me and I will help you out. I run a company called
Professional Options that caters strictly to Glocks. I have factory
and aftermarkets parts.
