There's a Handgun shooting range located close to town just past the
private airport off of HW 21. It's a pretty decent range. they only go
out to 25 yds so you can shoot .22 rifle and handgun only. They have
action steel set up which is quite fun. Like Arrowhead, they too charge
$6.50 to shoot. They do allow CONTROLLED rapid fire. If you can
keep it all on the paper you can shoot as fast as you want. (Occasionally
there's an ISPC shooter out there who's rather impressive to watch).
As a third option you can go to Sam Houston National Forest which has
some public shooting areas. It's about an hours drive away, so isn't
really
worth it if you're going alone. But it's free and you can do pretty much
what ever you want. It's the only place where you can shoot shotgun.
The range/field goes out about 100+ yds.
There's no benches or target holders though, so bring a cardboard box
and a stapler. Just be sure to clean up after yourself when you're done.

p.s. If you're staying on campus itself, you'll need to make arrangements
for
your guns. State law prohibits firearms on campus. (and they do check)

# Does anyone know of any shooting ranges located in or near the Texas A&M

# any info on these ranges (shotgun, rifle or handgun). Thanks

I don't know Bryan Texas from hunger, but isn't College Station near
Galveston? If so, you can try the municipal range in Texas City.
Texas City is on the mainland near Galveston.
