I have never gone out with one, but I suspect I might enjoy dating a 38
Swede, more than a short Chinese. {;-)>.
Just kidding Conrad, I couldn't resistthe subject line.
This is the US importer. Century Arms International, St Albans Vermont.
They are the same people who import the CZ 52 pistol. I had an 800 # for them
but I'd have to look around for it again.

Likewise, my Norinco SKS has the numbers "6992" stamped or engraved on every single metal part with no other distinguishing marks besides the serial number and "Norinco CSI, Inc., _____, California" (don't remember city name offhand).

OK, but will they go all the way on the first date?

4 out of 5 shooters surveyed preferred Chinese SKS rifles. The other would
rather date a girl.

In The SKS Carbine (For Collectors Only), North Cape Publications, 1996,
Kehaya and Poyer say that Chinese serial numbers begin with the year of
manufacture. First year was 1956 and was coded as "01" or "1". Counting
up, your "8" would be 1963.
Re the two "A"'s inside a triangle, that is probably the factory mark. Look
more closely at it as a drawing in the above book shows a factory mark with
a very stylized "416" in a triangle which could be misinterpreted as "AA".
Enjoy, Bob

Only if you don't degrease the firing pin.

Obvousily this doesn't work with all Chinese SKS models. My serial number
on mine is simply 00005. I've checked all the other parts that has the
serial number on it and they are all marked with that serial number. Any
clues as to when mine was made?

Has anyone ever seen a Chinese SKS with Cyrillic marks on the receiver?
