The Pfeifer-Zeliska .600 Nitro Express Magnum Revolver weigh over
13lbs.

Apparently you can alos get a barrel for the TC Encore:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0keZr_2wbc
This combo only weighs 6 lbs.

Over 400ft-lbs of muzzle energy in a 6lb pistol. No thanks. I'm
reminded of the late Col. Jeff Cooper asking, "But, what is it for?"

Shear testosterone factor maybe?

I'd never shoot one. I fired a 600 Nitro Express double rifle once and
it _hurt_ I'm not very recoil sensitive and shoot a Winchester Mod 70
in 458 Win Mag but that 600 Nitro was way to much for me.

They're not going to stop until they produce a .50 BMG revolver, and
maybe not even then.

Sometimes too much is just enough, but sometimes too much is just too
much:

Sounds like a good choice as a "Howdah Pistol" to use as a last line of
defense for those Indian Tiger hunts. You know in case the tiger tries to
get into your box on the elephant's back!

Classic example of the Southern California Design Philosophy: some is
good, more is better, too much is just right.

There's a video clip around the net showing several guys taking turns
shooting a .577 T-Rex rifle. It put several of these guys flat on their
asses.
Quite amusing to watch.

It's been done. Here a link to some .50BMG pistols. Mostly single shot,
but there's one 3 round revolver:

Ewwww... That's one fugly URL. Here's a bit.ly shortened version:

I used to shoot at that range.

Anytime a gun does that much damage to the person shooting it, you
should just put it down and walk away.

Either it kills the tiger or it knocks you unconscious so you don't
realize the tiger is eating you.

Win-win.

It would not be the first time I packed up and left a range due to
other's unsafe behaviour.

Maybe there's an after-market in straps that go around the barrel and
loop under your foot. Pachmayr or Houge could also make a rubber armor
slip cover for the TC Encore that would help prevent drop damage.

Last .600 Nitro ammo I saw was $1000/box of 5. Probably a little
cheaper now, that was original Eley solids. Something for the guy
that's got everything including a Ferrari and a yacht.

Now that's just silly! How much powder is burned when the barrel is
half the length of the brass, and half of that is ports?
Don't think I'll be rushing out to buy one any time soon.
