All,

I received the following note this morning from Jim Scoutten, host of the
American Shooter television program.

"The shows move to OLN (Outdoor Life Network) the First Sunday in January.
Two plays Sunday afternoon and evening. They will be re-runs in the first
quarter... the shows TNN kept hiding from viewers.
"New year, new contracts."

What a bummer. The Time-Warner cable system here in the Tampa area only
offers the OLN as part of its digital package. It will double my cable costs
to add that service just to get American Shooter.

Just this morning I was wondering when the "National" network was going to
unload it's "gun" shows in favor of more popular stuff.

Oh well, they'd cut it down to what, once?? a week first thing on Saturday?

I agree the cable bill sucks, but now you can watch Spirit of the Wild a couple
times a week on OLN

If that's your thing.

Get a DBS. I get OLN in my top 150 package.

Our cable system just got ESPN2 last year.

The "New TNN" is certainly going downhill fast!

I have to recommend the dishnetwork, I love The Outdoor Channel.
I think it's the only one you can get "Spirt of the Wild" by
Ted Nugent on. They also show all kinds of sporting clays and
other hunting shows 24x7 :-) And Outdoor Life is ok, more of trendy
sports than hunting or shooting.

Wonder where "Ducks Unlimited" tv is going?

I've been looking all over the channel guide to try and find what happened to
American Shooter. I love that show! Thanks for the info John,

Get a satellite dish.

DishNetwork's "Top 150" package includes both the Outdoor Channel and
Outdoor Life and goes for $40/month. http://www.dishnetwork.com

DirecTV's "Total Choice" package has the Outdoor Life channel and is
$32/month. http://www.directv.com/

They almost ALWAYS have some sort of promotion going which will get you free
installation and the hardware either free or at a deep discount.

I got a confirmation:

"It's true. American Shooter will begin airing on OLN the first Sunday in
January and will continue year round with two plays on Sunday... afternoon
and later evening. That's to give the West Coast a chance to see what's up
at a convenient time. For the first 6 months all the shows will be re-runs
from the TNN cycles, but that's a good thing since TNN made it just about
impossible to see the shows.

Do me a favor and post this up on the 1911 forum in my behalf. I'm a little
tied up at the moment doing a Mazda event at Laguna Seca in Monterey.

I believe it's the Outdoor Network. Scoutten called it the Outdoor Life
Network, but I think that was an error, unless there are two with very similar
names.

Outdoor Life Network. They also have shows on hunting and a series of
tours of gun clubs (sporting clays and shotgun sports only). Check your
cable operator for availability.

Merry Christmas,

Outdoor Life Network. Whoohoo! My cable company carries it!

OLN is Outdoor Life Network. It's a cool channel if you like guns and
hunting. I watched the Ted Nugent Call of the Wild last night. It's
hilarious.

I bet this isn't on most cable tv systems.

OLN is part of my TOP 150 package on Dishnetwork. Get a DBS. <G>

OLN is the Outdoor Life Network.

What I want to know is, how did Mr. Scoutten wind up with a career that
requires him to travel, shoot pretty much every firearm under the sun, and
drive hot cars?

I mean, damn. It's not fair.
