Of all the bad laws we have, (so far) My 50AE is allowed,
it is based on a Greener Mk2 Shotgun (so single shot) Lever Action

Speer makes some excellent JHP 50 caliber bullets.

I shoot them in my Desert Eagle.

#Speer makes some excellent JHP 50 caliber bullets.

Problem is the HP part, over here (UK) they have been outlawed since 1968 Act,
soft point (jacket stopped short of point) was still ok??, but by 1997 they
were also banned other than for use in tube mags (Winchester and the like)
which AFAIK must be marked "Only for the use in Tubular Magazines" the
distiction between "expanding ammo" and just "soft(er) point" seems to be above
most law inforcers so they teat as the same thing

# I shoot them in my Desert Eagle.

That was where I started with 50AE, I kept the reloading gear (post 1997) and
had the Greeener made, along with the above mentioned bullets

So if anyone knows of a dealer or small one-man band who can still make to
order in UK, I am interested

The Speer #4496 325 grain projectile is all I have ever fed my Desert Eagle, atop a serious amount of H110 or W296 [I suspect they are the same?] 32 grains, +/-, and that worked well in MY DE. Drop at least 10% to start for YOURS. CCI 350 primer.

They are close but not the same

#32 grains, +/-, and that worked well in MY DE. Drop at least 10% to start for
#YOURS. CCI 350 primer.

In my Greener I use(d) upto 32.5 grains on a CCI or Fiocchi Large Rifle Primer,
325 grain JHB/RN
Hogdens H110, MV=1860fps +/- 2%
W296, MV=1880fps +/- 3%

both shoot well, 0.1 grain changes in load =~5fps, and soft(er) loads down to
28 grains MV=1600fps still group well @ 200 yards

the other powder I tried, after reading an article on reloading 50AE for Eagle
& Casull (revolver), as there was no data on reloading 50AE for a rifle (that I
could find at the time)

26 grains of 2400, MV=1808fps +/- 5% but presures were to high with the 325
grain bullet at any higher loads, so tried IMI-Samson 300grain SPFN with 27.5
grains MV=1890fps +/- 5%,
needs more work, tiny changes effect presures very quickly (0.1=300psi change),
and groups were not good
