# within the cylinder of a ruger GP-100.
# none of the gun shops in australia know about a special tool.
# basically its a flat head screwdriver with a hole in the middle. i cant be

I don't know what "special screwdriver" you might mean, either.
There is no nut or other item holding the ratchet ejector star in place.
When you pull the ejector rod, the center pin's spring, as well as the other parts
and ejector star's axle just comes straight out!
If you're having trouble with unscrewing the ejector rod, turn it clockwise!
It has a left-hand thread, I hope you know.
No screwdriver needed. What is the part it's supposed to remove? Exactly where is it located?

I suspect an SMLE firing-pin tool, or something similar, might work.
As for making one, you should be able to go to a hardware store and get some
steel tubing of the appropriate diameter and attack it with a Dremel tool,
or at least a file, for a few minutes. Drill a hole or cut a slot in the
other end for a "T" handle, which can be a nail, piece of welding rod, the
back edge of a tableknife, etc.

# hi keith
# ive checked my instruction manual for the GP-100 it lists part number
# KH02400 and its called the ejector retainer screw and it holds the center
# pin rod part # KT05400. i have to get to the ejector screw b4 i can remove
# the ejector itself. the screw is contained within the cylinder.
Yes Sir! You're exactly right! The design has changed from the earlier
revolvers, where they had an ejector rod similar to a S&W, that actually
screwed into the bottom of the ratchet's shaft, to this one, that has a
separate screw.
Sorry for leading you astray. Thankfully, you didn't believe me! <g>
Good luck. I can't "help" any further...
