The magazine has the green follower and the floorplate has the following markings:

".223cal/5.56mm NHMTG S/42, Hartford, CT"
"Restricted Military/Gov't/Law Enforcement/Export use only"
and "5-02"

Anyone know if this is a quality magazine? What it is worth?

btw, I don't own these. Potential purchase...

It does not matter who made it. Any mag marked like that is illegal for you to
own unless you are Law Enforcement ot Military. If you are not LE or Mil, and
someone is trying to sell them to you, then they are breaking the law, as will
you if you purchase them.

Used/good condition mil surplus mags are still plentiful out there, and are
relatively cheap if you look around. Buy those instead.

Those were shipped with Olympic Arms AR-15's but I don't know if they also
manufactured the magazines.

A word of advice if you live in the US, stay away from LEO magazines.
High-quality pre-ban AR-15 mags are cheap and easy to come by. It's not
worth a felony. This is assuming you're not law enforcement. Even if you
are, I'd spend a few extra dollars to have a magazine you can take with you
if you leave your job.

Sounds like a Colt post-ban restricted magazine.

Is it legal for you to own post-ban magazines?

WARNING!!! Unless you are outside the US, Military or Law Enforcement (with
the proper authorization) that magazine is not legal to own by ordinary
citizens. There should be a date stamp on the body as well. Anything dated
9/94 and later is considered "post ban" and restricted.

As for who made the magazine, I cannot say. Colt is based in Hartford, CT
so that would be my guess.

Sounds like a post ban full capacity mag. Unless you're LE, it's
illegal to own those, thanks to that stupid ban.

The warnings you got from this group are just and deserve attention
however some may be thinking, if it runs and has no LEO/Military Only
stampings on the mag body,no strain, (Change and deep six the
floorplates). The least problems you'll have with a mag are
floorplates. However gun shows have stacks of 100% legal ones.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I'm in Canada and although our gun
laws are pretty restrictive, there are some wonderful loopholes...

For example, I just purchased a Bushmaster 16" shorty semi-auto marked
Law Enforcement Only. It has non-fixed telescoping stock, bayonet
lug, threaded barrel with muzzle brake, detachable mage, but no
step-cut barrel.

I just found out that I could buy a 14" shotgun as a non-restricted
firearm.
And a local gunshop is selling an AR15 with a 7" barrel which is
treated the same as a handgun for buying purposes.

As for the magazine, it doesn't matter if it's marked LEO or not. As
long as a pistol mag can hold no more than 10 rnds and a rifle mag
cannot hold more than 5 rnds. The mags in question are 30 rnd LEO
mags pinned to 5 so it is 100% legal.

They can't be all that bad. Maybe I'll pick up a couple...

OK. Lets assume that I'm in the US. I've got a 5rnd pinned mag that
cannot be readly converted back to high capacity, but its stamped
"Restricted Military/Gov't/Law Enforcement/Export use only". Is it
legal or not?

I'd love to sit on the jury of that one. I really hate sitting in the
defendant's chair.
