#Anybody own one of these Russian target pistols?
I bought one last year and I'm pretty happy with it. The adjustment
screws aren't well documented but I figured it out after a while.
There are four adjustments. Two on the underside of the trigger for
overtravel and take up, one hidden under the slide for sear engagement
(I think) and one more on top of the trigger for pull weight
adjustment. There is also one to adjust the position of the trigger.
I guess that makes five.
I have my trigger adjusted to 2.5 lbs, minimal take-up and virually
no overtravel. I polished some of the engaging surfaces but I wasn't
brave enough to get to the point where I could polish the sear. The
trigger isn't CRISP like a $1,500 pistol but much better than the
Ruger Mk II that I was using.
My scores in 600 point bullseye matches jumped 40 points (520 range to
560s) the week that I started using the new gun.
The grip didn't fit my hand really well but I was able to do some
fiddling and get around that problem.
I think that the pistol is very good for the money.

Grip safety not withstanding, I have been very pleased with the gun
and I am looking forward to this year's bullseye season.
Oh, another thing is that it prefers standard velocity ammo over the
high velocity stuff. That's not surprising but since I have 20,000
rounds of high velocity .22, I thought that I'd see how well the
pistol digested the ammo.
Why do I have 20,000 rounds of .22? When the Service Merchandise
store in my area was getting out of the gun business they had their
ammo marked down 50%. That was such a good deal that I bought the
remainer of their .22 ammo. So far I've used 10,000 rounds, only
20,000 to go.

#Plenty of information on these pistols. For a start, take a look

Wow! Tons of info about this great pistol. Lots of stuff that I
didn't know. For example, I had assumed that the Russian gun was a
copy of the Walther KSP. Was I ever surprised to learn that Walter
buys the IZH-35M and tweaks it a bit. Amazing.
