I know nothing about Parker Hale!! I have never shot one, nor do I know
anyone who shoots one.
Does anyone here have any experience with them?? Any advice??

I had a friend who had one back when I was in the Australian Navy. It rolled
a lot of deer in Tasmania.
The Australian and New Zealand armies use them as their standard sniper
rifle. Can't remember which model off hand.

Check to see where the rifle was made, and when. You're doing the right
thing by doing some research first, but folks here will probably need to
know more than just the brand name and the caliber to give you useful
information.

#I am looking at a Parker Hale 30 06. The rifle is in very good shape and the
#price is right.
You have a gun that is selling used in Canada for around $400-$500 Cdn
dollars in decent shape and I haven seen one that wasn't.
I had my barrel cut off just behind the front sight ramp and that left
approximately a 22 inch barrel. I had it crowned and the amputation seemed
to stiffen it out. With glass bedding it was a tack driver as well as being
a lot more handy in the jack pine forest. They are definately great rifle,
mine took literally tons of moose, mulies and whitetails in fact for a lot
of years it was my only rifle so it got to shoot things a 30-06 normally
wouldn't be tested against. You can't compare a Parker Hale to anything
made in the USA they are just a superior rifle and could be had in virtually
every calibre for shooting field rats to elephants.
Mine liked Hornady 165 gr spire point flat base bullets best of all, why I
don't know.
Hope you get lots of use out of it and good shooting.

They are very good guns. They still have a website that shows their
guns and it gives the impression that they are still being made. I
tried contacting them a few months back to find a source to purchase
from and I received an email response a week later stating that they
haven't been in the gun business for a few years. I just thought it
was strange that they go to the trouble of maintaining a website for
guns that they don't make anymore.

Recoil pads are like tires. Don't expect them to last a lifetime.

AFAIK they only make sniper rifles now, and I don't imagine they sell
thousands or even hundreds of those a year.
Per their web site:
they offer a modern built M1903 clone in 30'06, a M-16 look alike
semi-automatic rifle in .22LR, and a scoped bolt action target rifle
called the Stalker in .243 and .308. They also have air guns and scopes.
The web site seems to definitely imply that their products are currently for
sale.

Perhaps you missed this on the front page:
"Due to this, all gun production has been halted, however cleaning kits
and accessories will continue to be manufactured under the control of
John Rothery Wholesale."

Just had pointed out to me that the web site has a news item:
"On 16th November 2000, all rights to the name and intellectual
property of Parker Hale Ltd were purchased by John Rothery
Wholesale Ltd. Due to this, all gun production has been halted,
however cleaning kits and accessories will continue to be manufactured
under the control of John Rothery Wholesale."
So it seems they are out of the gun business. Odd they haven't
bothered to remove all the product and sales' information from
the other web pages.
