I'm going to be ordering a new stock for my 1909 Argentine Mauser soon
and I'm wondering if a Mark X stock will fit. Anybody here know for sure?

My reasoning is since the Mark X already had a somewhat modern trigger
assembly, a stock for one would take less work to fit a custom trigger
into the stock.

Right now I'm leaning towards this stock in camouflage laminate.

I had to refresh my memory, I didn't think the two actions were
exactly the same. See here:

It's a Yugo action, and apparently differs from German-made military
actions. A skilled craftsman could probably make the 1909 fit, but
I'm pretty sure it's not going to be a drop-in. You're going to have
to do a bunch of inletting anyway to get whatever barrel you've got to
fit, a little extra to fit a commercial trigger isn't going to be that
much extra work. It's not hard, just tedious. Get some stock-fitting
handscrews from Brownell's, some inletting black(or gold) and some
scrapers and you're good to go.

The 1909 Argentinian and the Mark X are standard length (8.750")
actions, but Mark X receiver cartridge openings and magazine boxes are
sized to fit the various cartridge ranges the action is intended for.

Thanx. I've decided to go with the standard M98 stock from Richard's
Microfit. It will take a little inletting for the trigger assembly but
there seems to be no getting around that...
