I'm trying to find the original source for the quotation about liberty
being founded on the soap box, the ballot box, the jury box, and the
cartridge box. Can anybody help?

Wish I could help. I've seen it often enough, but AFIR, not attributed to
anyone.

One of the characters called Natty Bumpo ( AKA Leather stocking,
AKA Deerslayer ), "that old sharp shooter".

misapplying the wrong remedy.

I said it back in 1970 at a political rally. Someone used it in print
and it eventually wound up on the lists at some of the quotations
websites.
