Blind shooter

I live in northern IL. Does anyone know of an establishment that would be
friendly to a blind shooter?
I'm safe and considerate towards other shooters and I am accompanied by a
sighted person who assists on getting me on target.

A couple of times a year the local range welcomes veterans, and having
volunteered to help I can tell you we've had our share of blind shooters. On
a normal day our range is not supervised by anyone and we police
ourselves -- so far so good. With someone assisting you I don't see a
problem, however it would be nice if your target offered some feedback. At
our events the crowed often lets out a loud cheer when a blind shooter hits
the target, and once hit they usually hit it again and again.

I would just go to the range with your friend and explain the situation. Our
range does not allow metal targets, but if your range does it will be easy
to get some feedback.

Sheet metal targets are easy to set up and remove and while they
develope holes with each shot.....will indeed provide audible feedback
to the shooter in most cases. With no richochet issues. Sheet metal
like the metal from an old refridge box etc etc. Someone with a plasma
cutter can cut them out like paper and there are no negatives with them

22s are quiet enough that a nice Thunk! can be heard with each bullet
strike at 7 yrds

Yes indeed. Just laminate the best AR or have the target so it
falls over. If the target is leaning against something - the
bullet will richochet - and if on a semi-rigid like on a hinge -
have it tilted forward so splatter and richochet hits the ground.
