I was looking for the same for an old friend who needs lower recoil
for his 1911 - for target shooting. I looked and looked for 185gr
target loads - and the few places I found were out of business. I was
hoping for loads in the 500 - 600 fps neighborhood.

This place seems to have them listed. I have ordered from them several
times in the past year. Also ordered from them several other times in the
last 10 years. All orders arrived in less than one week. No problems.

The ones listed below are on sale now. Not sure how long they will be. I
assume that is load ammo you want. If not they do list some bulk lead
bullets.

I am not going to take time to look up to see if they have them, but
http://www.grafs.com/
is another company I have ordered from with good service, and Midway is
another. Just make sure they are listed as in stock before ordering them
if done by computer.

Don't know why 180s won't do and Oregon Trail is a company of good
repute

Several others have provided some good sources. However, it is not clear
from your post - to me anyway - whether you are looking for loaded
ammunition or only bullets. Do you want jacketed or lead bullets? Please
clarify.

This site is into target and cast.

They are used by our range reloaders and some of them really
shoot the lead on the custom .45 range we have for them.

I'm a range director and due to our volume we have a VPA with them.

One can load the standard 221 SWC to those low velocities with no
trouble whatso ever.

I assume you guys dont cast?

i'm sorry for the confusion, thats my fault, im seeking loaded ready
to shoot ammunition. jacketed or lead ammunition would work as long as
it's 185 grain semi wadcutter 45 acp caliber, i can clean the
equipment of lead but can't do any reloading at this time so im
looking for sources of ready to use ammunition. i should have been
more clear. sorry all.

Brinell 18???? Thats HARD for the .45ACP!!

I wonder if they are getting full bore sealing?

Id think thats even a bit hard for pins.

Good pricing if one can pick em up. Lots of tin/antimoney in em.

Shipping might be a killer though

Say..Martin..ever run across a source for a mould or bullets in .403
ish...Im back to shooting the 40-65 Winchester again....

If you've got a 1911 tuned for the midrange match ammo they are indeed
very pleasant to shoot.

http://www.venturamunitions.com/45-acp-185-grain-swc-precision-cartridge/
$15.52

http://www.venturamunitions.com/45-acp-185-grain-tmj-match-hunting-shack-ammunition/
$22.33

If you have a hardball gun the target 185s can be be an annoying way
to practice clearing malfunctions.
