Take the 30-06 and run with it! After all is it not "God's Caliber?!"
Actually a fine bolt action .30-06 is one of the best guns you can have IMHO.
If you are a reloader of a factory ammo type there are tons of different types
of ammo. Remington lists close to 15 different loads for the 30-06 alone.
Semi-Autos are okay, but they are choosy on ammo and are more cleaning
intensive than bolt actions. I'm a Remington 700 series fan myself, but
Winchester and Savage aren't too shabby either. My personal favorite(though
it isn't pretty, is the Remington 721 with a 24 in barrel.

The courage to change the things I can,
And the weaponry to make up the difference!"
BTW My opinions are indeed my own and definitely not those of the Democratic
Party!

Hummph. Then why isn't "God's Gun" in .30-06 instead of .45ACP :-)

OEM and I just had an exchange about not ridiculing another man's religion. I
would guess that the above also falls into that category.
