Colt Mustang half cock problem

I just purchased a Colt Mustang and noticed that in half cock possition it
will release when the trigger is depressed - ( safety on -- safety off ) it
doesnt matter. is this normal for this gun or is this a deffect?

I just tried it on my Mustang and it does the same thing. Its not a
problem for me as I carry my Mustang fully-cocked safety on at all time.

As with many others of this design, what you call "half-cock" is not
really a half-cock position, but a safety ledge, should the hammer fall
from full cock.
It merely catches the hammer on the sear at that point and prevents the
hammer from punching the firing pin.

"Half-cock" should never be used as a resting place for the hammer,
under ANY circumstances. it simply is what it is. . .

That's how it works on mine. There isn't enough energy in the hammer to
fire a round from half-cock (which seems to be more like one-eighth
cock!). I like to use half cock for dryfiring. Any comments on that?
