What are the dimensions of the .308 and .223 magazines? I'd like to buy some
magazine pouches to hold various things on my waist (PDA, meds-I'm a doc, etc.)
and need to know the approximate sizes of each. I think the 20-round .223 and
equivalent size .308 magazine would be most appropriate. I've looked all over
the 'net, and haven't found a site that lists magazine dimensions.

Thanks.

David

For what rifles, and in what capacities? There are differences.

Approximate minimum mag pouch space needed per magazine (W x L x T):

.308

10 round - 3.25" x 3.75" x 1"
20 round - 3.25" x 7.75" x 1"

.223

10 round - 2.75" x 3.25" x 1"
20 round - 2.75" x 6.5" x 1"
30 round - 3.25" x 7.5" x 1"

But it sounds like you need specific dimensions of a mag pouch produced by a
manufacturer. You should probably find something that looks in the ballpark and
then send an email to the manufacturer. A vendor might also be able to provide this
information, as long as they are not just simple order takers. Or you could just
try them out at your local gunshop.
