I have two revolvers chambered for 32 S&W. Both revolvers are solid frame and
do not break at the top. One is an H&R model 732 and the other was
manufactured by the US Revolver Co. I have found very little published in the
way of loads. Does anybody have any reloading data for this cartridge?

Thanx
Bill

On the web try M.D. Smith's Reloading pages - this URL will bring you to the
32 S&W page http://www.reloadammo.com/32sw.htm

One of them should have some data. I shoot .32 S&W long in my Walther GSP
pistol, but my loads would be way too weak for you.

Hope this helps

Actually, I believe the 732 is chambered in .32 S&W Long. I used to
have a H&R 733 in .32 S&W Long (my sister has it now as a bedroom gun).
The big problem with reloading the .32 S&W (short) is finding the
reloading dies withoug paying a fortune. Finding .32 S&W Long dies is
easy. In any case, check Doc Smith's reloading page for both. For the
.32 S&W, go to http://www.reloadammo.com/32sw.htm For the .32 S&W
Long, go to http://www.reloadammo.com/32swlong.htm

You can duplicate factory loads with 2.2gr of Red Dot and a 98gr RNL. I
used up to 3.0gr of Red Dot with both a 98gr RNL and 95gr semiwadcutter
in the H&R 733. This is more pressure than factory loads. DO NOT use
them in breaktop guns. The the load made it a great small game
cartridge, though.

Bill:

These four loads come from M.D. Smith's reloading page. Perhaps they will be of
some help. These are all for the 85gr. lead bullet.

Powder Amount MV(fps)
W231 1.4gr 640
HP38 1.3gr 668
IMR 700X 1.4gr 665
Bullseye 1.3gr 670

These are max loads so be cautious.

Bill,
Assuming we're talking the 32 S&W (vs 32 S&W Long), you'll find
current reloading data in: Hodgdon #24-#26, all Lymans 39-47, cast #3,
and P/R#2, Nobel #7, Vectan #4 and the Winchester #15 reloading
booklet. For historic data: Sharpe (1937) and all Ideals #32 thru #38
(1933-1942). [said information was gleaned from the Index function in
RCBS.Load]

Modern Reloading by Richard Lee has a few loads for .32S&W and .32S&W Long.
You can get it at:
www.natchezss.com for about $12-$15.

Neither the Basic Hodgdon or Nossler manuals have anything on .32

Edward Hass
