The TA11 (3.5x35) has a longer eye relief than the
TA31 (4x32) but is also a lot longer, which, according to one review I've
read, forced the users to abandon the "nose-to-the-changing handle" aiming
method for the irons.
I don't want to be poking my eye out. As this would be the first scope I've
ever purchased, is .9 inches in eye relief a difference maker? The other
stats seem close (to my untrained eye) to each other. Anything else I should
consider about these two?

Check out www.ar15.com for even more info. There is a section under "AR15"
that deals with optics specifically, and you'll find lots of info on the
TA31.

#Does anyone have an experience with either scope on an AR15 (A2 upper)?
#With the limited supply, I'll probably have to buy sight unseen (no pun
#intended).
Another good resource for this question would be www.ar15.com. Lots
of expertise there.

I guess the main question is what are you going to use the gun for, If
your doing some run and gun stuff I like the longer eye relief, it helps
when you need to "snap" the gun up and hit a steel target or popper, but if
your just going to have fun go with the 31.I'm kind of contradicting myself
since I do use mine for 3 gun matches, and the only time I ever "scope"
myself is when I shoot prone, mainly because I'm trying to beat the clock
and get those shots off, standing or kneeling no problem.
