I have an old Sheridan Blue Streak pump up pellet rifle that was made
in the mid 1960's by Sheridan Products of Racine, Wisconsin. I have
been told they were out of business now and I am having trouble
finding new supplies of pellets. Anybody know where I can get these
5mm pellets that are barrel shaped with a pointed nose cone?

Regards,
Bill

Sheridan iwas bought out by Crossman. They are lin either holdcomb or E
Bloomfield, NY. They will repair some of the old sheridan's and should be
able to give you a source for the pellets.

Sheridan was bought by Benjamin, which I believe was subsequently bought by
Beeman. I've had no problem buying 5mm Benjamin/Sheridan pellets from web
sites I've found with a Google search.

Be advised that they have typical Crossman-style pellets in 5mm diameter,
plus what they call "cylindrical" 5mm pellets. The "cylindrical" ones
aren't quite the straight-walled pellets we're used to from the '60's, but
they're close.

I've been shooting my Beeman .177 much more than my Sheridan lately, so it's
been a while since I've ordered Sheridan pellets. (Got several boxes the
last time I ordered.) I'm sure you won't have a problem finding a supplier
with a quick Google search, however.

Try Pyramydair.com They have a variety of 25 cal pellets similar to (but
not exactly) what you want.

This may not be enough quantity for you to want to mess with, but I've
got 3/4 of a box somewhere out in the garage. It'd be kind of hard to
get to it right now, but if I can find them, I'll give them to you if
you'll pay for postage.

Email me some contact info and if I run across them, I'll get in touch
when (and if...) I find them.

You should be able to get them at the larger hunting stores such as Gander
Mountain, Cabelas, etc. If you're in the Midwestern US (WI, MN) you can get
them at Mills Fleet Farm. I just bought a box of these a few months ago, so
finding them shouldn't be a problem.

Good luck,

PG

Hey, I'll give you $30 for it. (big :-). I had to try. . .)

Sheridan is part of Crosman now. Check Crosman's web site.

25 cal pellets would be about 5 cal too big. As you say, "not exactly" what
he wants.

(Sounds like a Hertz commercial, huh?)

I've seen these in Wal-Mart and larger sporting goods stores. If
you've got to go mail order, various other pellet configurations are
available in .20/5mm from outfits like Airgun Express,
www.airgunexpress.com. They aren't the only ones that carry 5mm and
the Sheridan isn't the only airgun bored for 5mm these days. You
might find that some other pellet shape will work better in your
Sheridan than that old original pellet style.

Sheridan is alive and well along with Benjamin, they were both bought
by the parent company of Crosman. Parts and service are still
available.

Last I heard Sheridan bought Benjamin. Did Crossman then buy Sheridan? Or
did John mean to say Sheridan when he said Crossman? Crossman guns aren't
half the quality they used to be, Sheridan guns were twice they quality of
crossman and Benjamin guns were twice the quality of Sherdian (IMHO). I
still have a Benjamin Franklin Model 137 I bought over 30 years ago, that
works as well as the day I bought it. I still have an old Daisy thats even
older then my 137 that works great today.
I've never seen any Crossman gun last half that long.

He will want 20 cal. pellets for his 5mm Sheridan. I have found most of the
Gun shops can order them from thier distributors if they don't keep them in
stock. Craig
