With price not being a consideration, could someone tell me between the
Winchester Model 70 and the Savage 110 series, which one has better
accuracy, operation, and is a better overall rifle?

With money ABSOLUTELY NOT being any consideration, you can get a better
rifle totally hand built around a completely remachined "Winchester
Model 70" action. Of course the friendly folks at Winchester wouldn't
recognize anything but the serial number - but it would be the better
rifle.

On the other hand, if you are talking about a rifle that you can get
less than a year after you order it then buy the Savage FP110 Tactical.

Once price becomes part of the reality, there is only one answer, and it
sure ain't a Model 70.

Here I go again causin' trouble. If you have the money to fix the trigger, and
you don't mind ugly, the Savage is probably the more accurate of the two
choices. If you want to consider overall operation, the Winchester would win
hands down. Besides, there ain't no such thing as ugly on an Elk hunt.

The local Wally World has a Winchester Model 70 package (plain finish)
including cheap scope for a little over $400. They don't carry the Savage
tactical model anymore (sniff). Consider a third alternative of the Weatherby
Vanguard that Wally World carries for about $370. Smooth, accurate, and not bad
looking.
