What is a Burgo .22 Short

I have come into possesion of a small revolver. It is a .22 short,
6-shot, 1-3/4" barrel. The barrel is marked "Burgo" and "Made in
Germany". Note that it does not say either East or West, just Germany.
The grip says "Gacado". The frame has a "68" in a circle. I have
reason to believe that this gun may be pre-war (II), but I cannot be
sure. Anyone ever heard of this company or any information?

I am in about the same position you are. I have just bought a Burgo 22LR
revolver 8 shot. Mine sounds very similar to yours. Mine has the Burgo
made in Germany emblem on it. Mine has a 5 inch barrel on it. I looked
in several books in the book store and could not find anything on this
brand of gun. The person I bought it from said it was taken off a German
soldier during the war (not sure which one). Mine has model 106 S
stamped on the side of it. Mine has a 66 in the circle though. I would
like to know more about mine also. I payed $100 for it and am wondering
it it was a good buy or not.
