Hello Group.

I was wondering if anyone had information on fitting a Winchester
"defender" 1300 barrel on a "regular" Winchester 1200 or 1300 pump
hunting shotgun. Can it just be "put on"? If so, does the mag tube
retaining ring on the barrel need to be moved back to fit the length
of the mag tube on the hunting gun. If so, how far from the end of the
breach does it need to be placed? or, would the longer "defender" mag
tube need to be installed for this to fit? Thanks in advance,

Rich

I've seen adapters for going the other way, 1200 barrels on 1300
shotguns, they're just a tubing spacer. I'd think you'd need the
longer mag tube and spring. What's so attractive about a 1300 barrel?
You can get the same length barrel that will fit a regular 1200/1300
and use an extension if you want more rounds. You'd probably spend
that much just getting your gun fixed up so a Defender barrel would
fit and then you'd end up getting an adapter so you could use regular
1200/1300 barrels.

Hello,

The reason why I want to go "in reverse" by putting a Defender barrel
on a "regular" 1300, is because I have a 1300 defender barrel that I
obtained for little cost and I also like to "tinker around" around the
shop. I think that Win. 1200 and 1300 owners would like the ability to
put a riot-type barrel on their hunt'n gun every now and then - just
like Rem 870 owners have been doing for years. So, if anybody can tell
me how far the ring is from the end of the breach, I can re-locate the
mag ring into a more "usable" position.
Cheers,

Rich

doesnt sound too hard you just need to get the tac-star extended tube
(prob the 10 shot one) and have it chopped and threaded the right size
