Anyone used online landscape design services?

I'm curious if this works out well. I have seen a few services online
that will create landscape plans anywhere from $250 up to $900. They
usually get you to fill out a questionaire and send photos of your
site. I am intending to do all the planting and physical work myself.
Maybe better to find a local service to provide a plan?
