(Karen Baldwin):
Catalog: Free. Lots of color pictures.
"I have always recommended the Edmunds catalogue to
anyone looking for an honest representation of the
varieties offered. Up until now, their catalogues
have been quietly attractive and characterized by
restrained descriptions that did not fail to mention
shortcomings as well as good qualities. I was sorry
to see that the most recent list, which arrived in
the mail a couple of weeks ago, seems to have been
influenced by the tarted-up graphics and hyperbolic
prose of some of the competition."
Service: "Excellent." "Very helpful over the phone, and if you have a
problem with a rose, they invariably give you a credit for
it or try to replace it." "Nice folks to deal with."
Plants: Contemporary roses. Mostly modern, grafted roses.
Delivery: They will ship bareroot roses in either fall or spring.
(mid-november through mid-may). The plants are packed really
well.
Spring, 1995:
dso...@halcyon.com reports:
Highest quality plants, vigorous and easily Grade 1. They have a wide
range
of HTs that should meet the need of most anyone. The descriptions are a
little
over the top, but the plants don't disappoint. I also purchased my
drip-irrigation
system through them at a price below the manufacturer's catalog prices.
A great
asset to PNW rose growers.
Late Fall, 1995:

I've been ordering from Edmond's for 15 years or more. They specialize
in exhibition hybrid teas, some grandifloras and floribundas.
The
catalog has changed in the last two years because Fred has mostly
retired. His son Phil and his wife Cathy have taken over. But I am
disappointed with the descriptions, which were in the past in some
cases, hysterical! when Fred was doing them. They seem to have gone to
the ususal one-description-does-all format. HATE IT!!! But the
cataloge is just gorgeous!
This year I'm getting Carmen (HT). A better version of Papa Meilland.
Winter, 1996:
Dave (arl...@mail.erols.com) writes:
With respect to rose catalogs, I have had some good and bad
experiences. My best experience was with Fred Edmund's Roses.
Their specimens are the best I've seen and they arrive on time and
in excellent shape. No complaints, and I highly recommend them.
MGab...@aol.com writes:
Enjoyed newest catalog very much. Much nicer format than old style
ones.
Great quality photographs of actual plants. Very nice people to deal
with,
many times you can talk to the owner and his wife who are very
knowledgeable.
All are very helpful when it comes to disease resistant plants and they
are
more than happy to help solve specific problems you are having with your
plants.
Updated: February, 1996. "
You're welcome...

Look again. Edmund's does have a web site. I don't have the address
handy, but you can get there through the ARS home page at www.ars.org.
