Hi,

I've received some free poppy seeds and was wondering if I should put them
in the ground now, or should I wait until next spring. I realize that I
won't get any flowers until next sprint anyway. I'm in Zone 5, 25 mi.
west of Boston.

Thanks,

Binh

You can plant them in the fall too. I think I read they bloom a week or two
earlier that way. If that's true you could plant half then and half in
spring to enjoy the flowers a little longer, maybe.

what also works is to start the seeds in peat pots in early spring (They hate
transplanting).

No poppy seed I ever put on the ground at any time ever grew--but these
peat-pot poppies have. and bloomed!!!!!!
